Cowes Sailing School is owned and run by two Yachtmaster Instructors with a wealth of yachting experience in instructing, racing and cruising in home waters and abroad. The school has Royal Yachting Association recognition to run Shorebased and Practical courses based on the Isle of Wight. The most prestigious sailing harbour in the world. The surrounding Solent has a wealth of harbours, creeks, estuaries and large busy ports to practise the necessary skippering or crewing skills at all levels. There is plenty of scope for longer trips with the beautiful Channel Islands as well as the French coast a passage away.

This school will draw on the experiences of instructors to provide the best possible environment for learning, the enjoyment and honing of skills for the individual, the group and the family.

A small, friendly organisation able to give individual attention and adapt courses on our highly maintained yachts or customer's private yachts to suit different requirements of sailing skills, diet and fun.

Cowes Sailing School also specialises in Race Training having competed in some of the better known RORC races such as the biannual Fastnet. A Sigma 38 "Bellerophon of Wight" is also available for charter with skipper/instructor for such events.

Barrie is a Yachtmaster Instructor with ocean qualifications and has worked for a number years in this area and for a variety of different sailing schools. He has skippered and trained crews for offshore races including RORC and the Fastnet. A man of patience and plenty of experience.

Amanda Bradbeer Owner of Sigma 38 "Bellerophon of Wight"

Amanda is a fully qualified Yachtmaster Instructor and examiner. She has extensive knowledge of the local sailing waters. Amanda was in the Merchant Navy and worked in business. She often works as a race officer for club and international events and involved in many varied aspects in the Solent sailing/racing scene. A true local who has worked in this trade for many years!
